Emerald Blazer

The color of fall 2013 is emerald! There are many ways to incorporate emerald into your style this season. You can include subtle hints of emerald with an emerald nail, or you can go bold and wear a pair of emerald pants (which pair nicely with brown rider boots). For our first post, we decided to incorporate emerald into one of the most versatile items that every closet should have: the blazer.
An emerald blazer is not just a great pop of color, but it demands attention! Although blazers are typically associated with a more professional and sophisticated dress code, a blazer can also be dressed down with T-shirts, dresses, sweaters, jeans, and almost anything else imaginable.

Outfits: Feminine vs. Masculine
Feminine
For our first outfit we’ve paired the blazer with a simple—yet chic—black and white-striped jersey dress. Since the blazer and the dress are meant to be the focus of the outfit, we thought a simple nude heel would be best.

Masculine
In our second outfit, we decided to change it up and go a little more masculine. We’ve paired the blazer with a light white-laced top with some dark-wash jeans. For the shoes we decided on these cognac oxfords, which provide a nice contrast to the emerald color of the blazer.
