Inspiration Boards: The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a spectacularly-told story featuring adventure, comedy, drama, romance, and quirky characters, but what really caught our eye were the stunning colors. The color choices in this film ranged from strong, vivid hues to softer, pastel shades, but it seemed that every color on the screen was bright and chock-full of life -- like candy for your eyes. The costumes, of course, were no exception.

Inspiration Boards: Game of Thrones

Have you joined in on the Game of Thrones mania? We're definitely on the bandwagon. The show has inspired quite a few crazes across the world including baby names and huskie purchases (and sadly, subsequent huskie abandonments). If you're not familiar with the show, Game of Thrones is a fantasy drama television series created by HBO and is based on George R. R. Martin's fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire. The show involves a web of interweaving story lines featuring several noble houses in a civil war over the Iron Throne. We highly recommend the show, but be warned--a rather large portion of it is very much NSFW.

Mixed Prints

Mixing prints can be somewhat intimidating but once you've mastered the skill, it will greatly increase the potential of your closet. One easy way to mix prints is to have a unifying color scheme throughout the look (like we did with navy in outfits 1 and 3 and light pink/coral in outfit 2).
